Eucalyptus, jasmine & bergamot CANDYSPIKE SOY WAX CANDLE
Eucalyptus, jasmine and bergamot - the very essence of late nights in long-haul destinations - are distilled into a luxury hand-poured soy wax candle. Blended for Mimi Hammill by collaborative partner Claremont Studio, this fantasy of far away places was created within the tiny radius of our locked down homes in Aberdeen.
Presented in a stunning cobalt blue tempered glass, the candle comes wrapped in coordinating tissue, a kraft presentation gift box and an outer cardboard mailer box. A CandySpike patterned ribbon completes the unboxing experience.
CandySpike
CandySpike is a series of Mimi Hammill patterns for 2021 that represent the sequence of nucleotides for a certain novel zoonotic virus you might have heard of. The ribbon shows a tiny section of the viral genetic code (the first part of location MT649402.1 to be precise) for the virus’ infamous spike protein. The spike protein is the bit that vaccines are “teaching” our immune systems to recognise. So the spike protein is kind of a big deal and well worth immortalising in beautiful colours. Continuing the fantasy holiday theme, I have coded the nucleotide sequence using hues associated with some of my dream destinations: Majorelle Blue, Venetian Red, Nyboder Yellow, and Mediterranean Blue.
Ingredients
200ml candle, approx 36 hours burn time. 100% natural soy wax candle containing the following essential oils: Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus Globulus), Jasmine Dilute (Jasminum Officinale), Bergamot (Citrus Bergamia). Handpoured in small batches in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Reuse & Recycle
The cardboard gift box and mailing box are unbranded so that you can reuse them if you wish. If not, they can be recycled. The blue glass is a food safe water glass - when your candle is finished, place it in the freezer for a couple of hours to make remaining wax easier to remove. Dispose of all remaining wax in the bin, wash the glass thoroughly, and add it to your kitchen collection!
Safety
Your safety is our primary concern. Please follow all of these guidelines.
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
Burn candles out of reach of children and pets.
Always leave at least 10cm between burning candles.
Do not burn on or near anything that can catch fire.
Only burn candle on a level, heat-resistant surface.
Do not allow the flame to touch the glass.
Always trim the wick to 5mm before lighting.
Glass may become hot during use.
Extinguish when 5mm of wax remains.
Keep the wax clear of matches and other debris.
