No.1 MEMORY SQUARE: CURATION GIFT SET

2020 eh? A solid gold, turbo charged disaster. And in Aberdeen (the city where I live) the previous few years were hardly a bath of sprinkles either. But in Autumn 2019 we had a glimmer of hope: the Aberdeen Art Gallery & Museum reopened after a multi-million pound renovation. My overwhelming memory of the opening weekend is of glowing, glittery-eyed crowds. I heard more than one person say "it's like seeing an old friend again." I would've bottled that feeling if I could have.

Instead, as 2020 went from bad to worse (with no chance to see old friends at all) I resolved to celebrate our city in my work for the first time. The result is my new luxury silk scarf collection: MEMORY SQUARE. Memory Square is an imaginary address filled with old friends and happy times. Each of the 3 designs in the collection celebrates a beloved local landmark, immortalised on exquisite silk.

No.1 Memory Square is called CURATION and is, of course, my celebration of the Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museum. Numbers 2 and 3 will be released in October and November 2020 respectively.

The first 10 scarves in each design will be accompanied by an EXCLUSIVE LIMITED EDITION MEMENTO; an extra little something I’ve designed to trigger full-beam, rose-tinted nostalgia. In the case of CURATION, the memento is a limited edition GICLEE ART PRINT of the stunning Memory Square photograph by peerless photographer Susan Castillo.

So whether it's a treat for yourself or a treasured gift for someone special, I can't wait to welcome you to Memory Square for the first time.

  • a giclee art print of the Memory Square concept photograph, printed on beautiful 308gsm matte cotton rag in London, sized to fit an 8”x10” frame, numbered in a limited edition of 10. Prints are presented in a sustainably sourced grey envelope.

Contents will be wrapped in tissue paper and posted in a C4 cardboard mailer box.
