MiMiBEEWAX Wrap Making Kit
MiMiBEEWAX Wrap Making Kit
The MiMiBEEWAX Wrap Making Kit is the perfect little kitchen treat. A feel-good gift to yourself or a loved one, once you’ve made your own plastic-free food wrap you’ll be hooked (and you’ll want to do a - completely justified - hair flick of righteousness every time you use one). Used in place of plastic sandwich bags and cling film, simply use the warmth of your hands to mould MiMiBEEWAX wraps around sandwiches, fruit, veggies or blocks of cheese, or to cover bowls in the fridge.
Each single kit includes:
a metric Fat Quarter (FQ) of MiMi HAMMILL cotton, printed in Edinburgh, pre-washed and ready to use, measuring 70 x 50cm (enough to make several substantial food wraps).
a bar of Scottish beeswax
a small paintbrush
a detailed instruction leaflet for making, using and maintaining your MiMiBEEWAX food wraps, and information on where to source further materials in the future
You can choose from single kits (containing one piece of cotton and one bar of beeswax) or double kits (containing two pieces of cotton in coordinating patterns and two bars of beeswax).
DID YOU KNOW? Regular plastic cling film, invented in the mid-twentieth century, is not recyclable and can take decades to break down in landfill. The way my spongy brain computes it is that pretty much all the cling film we’ve used since we first saw Kate let go of Leo’s hand over the side of that raft in Titanic STILL EXISTS.* Bottom line: I reckon cotton beeswax food wraps are better. And they’re so much fun to make and use!
*This Titanic illustrative metaphor became extremely involved so you should know that this is the heavily edited version... by several hundred words. And I don’t even know if it’s really a metaphor. I’ve spent too much time trying to work it out, I think I need to go and have a lie down.
